Can some one help me with the boiler mechanical design. How close is the design related to design of a pressure vessel.

Thanks a lot in advance

Regards

RE: boilers

Very close. Try ASME Sec I.

RE: boilers

Very, very close.....

Try reading up on boilers and pressure vessels and then you will be able to ask better questions. Much good information available from B&W in thier classic text "Steam".... the boiler Bible for newbies....Buy it

http://www.babcock.com/library/steam.html

Are you in the process of purchasing a new boiler or repairing an existing one..??

thanks both of you for the reply and suggestion. Yes I shall try to read ASME
I am in neither of them

RE: boilers

You'll find that Section I is very much thinner than Section VIII and has only one volume...
