Printing to PDF troubles

Printing to PDF troubles

Printing to PDF troubles

(OP)
On drawings that have multiple pages, I can print all sheets to the printer or plotter just fine.  All sheets print.  When I print to a PDF (CutePDF writer), it will print sheet one to a file...I save the file..then it prompts to print the remaining sheets (sheet 2-x) which I save to a different file name (which usually by default is the file name-sheet 1).  How can I change it to where it prints to a PDF the same as it prints to the actual printer or plotter?  I want one file with all sheets in PDF...not one file with sheet 1 and another file with sheet 2-x.  Thanks.

RE: Printing to PDF troubles

Simple. Rather than printing to CutePDF, save the drawing directly as a PDF file

Just do 'Save as' -> and select PDF as the file type.

This should save your drawing directly out as a pdf. It allows you to select the sheets to be included (by default it will save all of them into a multi-page pdf).

RE: Printing to PDF troubles

SaveAs has more issues than PrintTo function.  Use PrintTo.  When printing using CutePDF, there's a setting that that needs to be turned off.  On the Print dialog box, make sure CutePDF is chosen, then click on the Page Setup button.  Make sure "set each drawing sheet individually" is unchecked.

I can print as a PDF by using "save as" but it's MUCH slower than printing to a PDF in cutepdf writer.

It worked as it should by unchecking the "set each drawing sheet individually" box.  Wonder how to set this to be unchecked by default?

RE: Printing to PDF troubles

Try changing the property from the printer control panel rather than from the print dialog in SolidWorks.  That should change the default.

Eric, I tried doing that but couldn't find where it gives me the option to change it.
