Hinge doesn't move any more in an assembly

Hinge doesn't move any more in an assembly

(OP)
Hi,

I've made few hinge assemblies, just like the one in the SW 'Advanced design' tutorial.

When I add the hinges to another assembly, they don't move any more. The only mates I have used between the hinges and other parts are constraints on the one half of the hinge that is fully defined (it has an (f) beside it in the property manager). I expected that the hinge would still move.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

John

You have to make the subassembly flexible.  Go to the properties of the subassembly and select "solve as flexible".

Great - so I was missing something simple. Works lovely.

Cheers!
