cm/seg^2 tops 2000 as the chart in page 1.
Must be then gal=cm/seg^2

I found it in Wikipedia. It actually means galileo and is used in gravimetri. 1 gal = 1 cm/s^2 so 3000 gals is 30 m/s^2 or approx 3 g.
So it was a really nasty quake.
