Density/Mass/Volume

Density/Mass/Volume

Density/Mass/Volume

(OP)
Hi all,

I have a question in relation to density calculation.

D=M/V, so DxV=M and therefore V=M/D.

V = M / (0.998), so V = M . 1.002 (the inverse of 0.998)

Taking the Density of water at room temp to be 0.998 kg/m3, what I want to know is this:

If the unit of density (0.998) is kg/m3, when you invert it, what is the unit of the 1.002 figure? Is there a name for this?

RE: Density/Mass/Volume

Specific Volume.  There are published tables of these values.

David
