Motor RTD's

Motor RTD's

Motor RTD's

(OP)
I am working on getting some quotes for three 400 HP motors that will run our boiler feedwater pumps. They will run 24 hours a day. Continuous duty. The motors will be indoors. Summer about 80 to 90 deg. F. ambient. Winter months about 70 to 80 deg. F ambient. U.S. Electric Titan II motors. Class F insulation. My RTD options are: 10 ohm copper. 100 ohm platinum. Or 120 ohm nickel. Will be requesting 4 wire RTD's. We will be useing the temp. for an audible and visual alarm to our DCS. We would also like to be able to trend the temp. from time to time on our DCS HMI's. Question is: What type of RTD would best suite our needs?

RE: Motor RTD's

Haven't Pt100 been the standard for decades? Or has that changed?

RE: Motor RTD's

PT 100 for long-term stability, better scaling, a clean linear resistance vs temp up to 200 deg C.
