(OP)
In our company we are presently rehabilitating three Numbers old Hydro Generators. In this respect we need method of carrying out Full Flux Test on stator Core of a Hydro Generator.
Feed back is urgently needed.
The information from a member will be highly appreciated please.

RE: Method for Full Flux Test of Hydro Generator Stator Core laminations

On a turbo-alternator this is normally achieved by passing a number of turns of HV cable through the stator core and energising from either an HV generator or a large station auxiliary supply. The number of turns is calculated to produce rated flux at power frequency. I expect that a similar process could be used on a hydro machine. Perhaps Wolf will contribute his experience.

scottyuk is right. The 'loop test' is the proper way to do this. Your company should have a procedure to do this work if they are qualified to 'rehabilitate' generator windings.

IEEE 56-1997, Appendix A has fairly detailed procedure for core loss testing.

RE: Method for Full Flux Test of Hydro Generator Stator Core laminations

On hydro generators loop tests are usually performed with a stator back iron (yoke) flux density of 1 Tesla. If the material type of the stator lamination is known you can calculate the magnetization requirements from the magnetization characteristic of this material. The Amps/cm figure at 1 Tesla has to be multiplied with the circumference of the stator yoke. In case the stator core consists of two or more segments, the magnetization of the respective air gaps have to be considered as well. Allow a certain percentage for the magnetization of the stator frame. Divide the total Ampere*turns by the number of cable turns and you arrive at the respective magnetization current. Pass a turn of wire around the stator core for measuring the voltage corresponding to the 1 Tesla figure.

The above describes the general procedure only. For details you better contact specialists familiar with such tests or look into thé internet.
