PDM Hiding Archived Files

PDM Hiding Archived Files

PDM Hiding Archived Files

(OP)
Hi All,

We have been using PDMWorks for some time now and are getting to the stage where certain drawings are becoming obsolete.  Ideally I would like to archive the obsolete files and have them hidden to all non-administrators.  Is there any way to hide archived files so they don't show up in the PDM file list?  I'm trying to avoid moving files to an archive folders and setting RW permissions.

I'm using SW 2008 SP3.

Thanks!

-Steris

RE: PDM Hiding Archived Files

The simplest thing is probably moving them to a project in PDMWorks that only administrators can see, but I think that is what you said you are trying to avoid.

You might be able to do this using the vault's life cycle management options by creating an obsolete status and only giving the administrators access to files in the obsolete state.

Eric
