pro engineer install and run problem

i ve installed and run pro e wildfire 2 succesfully ,also made a project ,when suddendly it stop functioning. i run the programm and after a few sec a message pops out ''the pro e stoped functioning ''.I try to install pro e wildfire 4 and at the very begining the same message pops out. Does anybody has any idea whats wrong???  I have a laptop acer extensa 5230 win vista basic.RAM 1,50 celeron 2.00 GHz

RE: pro engineer install and run problem

A good laptop with more ram and a better processor would be a start.

A better operating system is a must, Vista is no good.

As a comparison, I use a Dell Precision M6400 with 16 GB of ram, dual core processor.

If the problem is with Pro Engineer itself, Pro Engineer shuts down without warning and with no explaination of the problem.

RE: pro engineer install and run problem

I don't have it here with me, but try setting the windows display setting to win_gdi32, I think it is.
Your computer is underpowered for Pro/E and I am guessing you have an Intel built-in graphics chip. VISTA is a resource hog compared to XP and Win7.

RE: pro engineer install and run problem

What changed between when it worked and when it stopped working?  Did you update Vista or install new software?  Even something as trivial as a mouse driver or an internet toolbar can hose up a workstation (I use the term loosely in this case).
