Expansion Loops

Expansion Loops

(OP)
I looked through the forums and they get a lot into software.  How do you manually calculate an expansion loop dimensions?  Is there something in ASHRAE for this?  An Example is 140 degree F water at 300 gpm in a 4" Black steel sch 40 pipe?

Thanks

RE: Expansion Loops

ASHRAE HVAC Systems and Equipment 2008 S45.11.

Whole section on expansion loops and calculations.

RE: Expansion Loops

Need pipe length (anchor to anchor) to complete the calculation also.
