Can detailed threads be made simplified?

Can detailed threads be made simplified?

Can detailed threads be made simplified?

(OP)
I have a number of models that were created using detailed threads. Is there an easy way to convert them into simplified threads, OR, is there a way that detailed threads can be displayed in drawings as simplified?
As it stands I'm unable to dimension leading and trailing chamfers as well as the major/minor diameters.
Though I could just insert a note with the info, these drawings are for validation purposes and as such I dimension everything (example, no notes such as "R.125 Typ", "Both Sides", "4 Places", etc). I need to be able to use the model (as a master) to drive all the dimensions of the drawing file, thereby maintaining associativity and ensuring accuracy should the model be altered.

RE: Can detailed threads be made simplified?

You can show threads that are simplified in the model as detailed in the drawing view, but not the other way around as what you need.

So in other words, I have to recreate all the detailed threads in the model as simplified threads. Bleh.

Thanks anyways.

RE: Can detailed threads be made simplified?

You must have a major Hoss computer to be able to display the detailed threads! A lot of places will slap your hands for that.

Nothing too over the top, but we did invest in Quadro 4000 video cards.

We normally don't use detailed threads. However, in this instance we had hired a new employee and gave him a whole bunch of drawings to make models from in order to familiarize himself with NX. Only thing was, no one bothered to tell him which thread to use on the models.

A tip on redoing your taps:
You can save the sketch that the tap was based off of, which will save some time:
>  Make the threaded hole feature that you need to replace the "Current Feature"
>  RMC (right mouse click) on the threaded hole feature > make sketch external
>  Delete the threaded hole feature, the sketch will stay
>  With the sketch highlighted in the tree add your new threaded hole, it will be based off of that sketch
>  RMC (right mouse click) on the new threaded hole feature > make sketch internal

Thanks Jerry. That'll help things along.
