Aluminium type

Hi everyone!

I'm in charge of the design of some platforms supporting some items.

They will be made in aluminium (in order to make it lighter). On the platforms we have some (accurately placed) rails, many screws, some positioning pins and not really much weight

I would like to ask you which kind of aluminium I must use. I don't know if there is an alloy which is more convenient.

Any recommendation?

Thank you!

RE: Aluminium type

A few more details will help.

Is any welding required?
What are your section dimensions?
Is this a people platform?
Where is it stored?

Thank you for the fast answer!

Here more details

Yes, we need to weld some part (of the same material) to it
We have different dimensions: 500x250 mm2, 600x600 and 1300x650
It is not for people (would this change the Al type)
it will be placed in a kind of storage room. Room temperature, a bit dusty...

Cheers,
David
