Learning Catia - Constraint Problem

Learning Catia - Constraint Problem

Learning Catia - Constraint Problem

(OP)
Hi all,

I've decided to learn Catia, so am working through a tutorial book, but I'm having a slight problem applying a constraint.

I've attached 2 pics to show the problem.

I'm trying to apply a 10mm constrain between the top line of the rectangle and the construction line above it (see pic 1). But every time I try to apply the constrain, the constrain applies itself to the other side of the rectangle (see pic 2).

What I'm I doing wrong?

RE: Learning Catia - Constraint Problem

The construction line you're referring to is not really a construction 'line'. It is a construction entity (it is a single 'polyline' with no points in it) which you have created by clicking on the face (projecting the whole face).

I suggest you create the construction line by clicking ('projecting') on just the edge you want and then dimensioning your rectangle from that line/edge.

See how it works then.
