wave/promote and family parts in teamcenter

(OP)
I'm currently migrating our data to teamcenter and was wondering what the best practice is for handling wave links, promotions, and family table parts in teamcenter.

I did some experiments importing files with promotions and it appears the files get imported separately (if the base file is even 'caught' in the import process). I would think a promotion or wave link would need to be treated similar to an assembly in teamcenter so that if the base part gets a revision, the child part does too.

What has worked for you?

RE: wave/promote and family parts in teamcenter

there was a thread on bbs nx assembly last year on bbs may help you
hope it helps
