I am trying to find out if anyone know how 430F or 430FR is manufactured.

Is it CAST or SINTERed process?

I wanted to make a part that will go in a vacuum environment.

Thank you.

Thank you, I will check out the links

RE: 430F or 430FR

I have only ever seen them as wrought products, though PM is possible but more expensive.

RE: 430F or 430FR

I have a naive question, are P/M or cast parts recommended for vacuum application?

usually not unless they have been vacuum impregnated with a resin.  Outgassing is a big issue.

Your right Ed, that is the concern here, outgassing.
