Angular tolerance...

Angular tolerance...

Angular tolerance...

(OP)
Hi guys,

I want to know what would be the best way to show that I want a maximum misalignment of 1 deg. between the center axis of each part (hook and tube).

Refer to the attached file for more info.

Thanks,

RE: Angular tolerance...

The problem I see here is that none of 14 geometrical tolerance characteristics in ASME Y14.5 is able to define tolerance zone that could grab your intent directly.

I would suggest using perpendicularity tolerance between both axes.
Assign one cylindrical feature as a datum feature A by attaching datum feature symbol to the diameter of this datum cylinder and then attach perpendicularity feature control frame to the diameter of second cylinder.
|perp|dia.X.X|A|
Knowing the length of the axis that is toleranced and allowable angular deviation, you could calculate maximum value of diameter of above perpendicularity tolerance zone. That is why I said you are not able to do it directly.

RE: Angular tolerance...

trudels,

Are your parts completly parallel, or just located to a datum plane?  Your drawing looks like a rather complicated 3D projection.  A 0° angle makes no sense in 2D.
