Piping Shoe Loads

Piping Shoe Loads

Piping Shoe Loads

(OP)
Are there any thumbrule guides to calculate the maximum Loads that standard Welded Pipe shoe supports could carry (Axially & Lateral loads of hot piping)? I have got the loads from CaesarII at the restraints but am worried about whether the standard Pipe shoe supports are sufficient to carry the loads. Any thumbrule guide to know the relationship between size of Pipe to the maximum Loads at supports are welcome.

RE: Piping Shoe Loads

There are too many variables to get a reliable rule of thumb. Most in-Company support standards have load limits based on type of shoe, pipe wall thickness, hot allowable stresss, corrosion allowance etc. Otherwise try googling PTP (Piping technology Products) or similar catalogues ?
