Hi i find on my office a avo megger b131 and i wonder exactly what it does and how it works, so i surf on google, but i just find a data sheet and i´ll like to get something like a manual....
could somebody help me...as always thanks for your attention

RE: AVO megger b131

Google tells me that an AVO b131 is not a megger, it is an LCR meter.

yes, but the package says dual display lcr meter from AVO Megger B131, i really don´t know exactly what could i do with it,
thaks...

RE: AVO megger b131

If you do not know what to do with an LCR meter - why do you feel like doing anything at all with it?

RE: AVO megger b131

AVO Megger is the company name. Actually, they just go by "Megger" now in the US, IIRC.  The marketing geniuses at AVO finally figured out that the tradename "Megger" has much greater value than AVO.

If it is functional, you could send it to me.  looking around

" The marketing geniuses at AVO finally figured out that the tradename "Megger" has much greater value than AVO."

And to this day, when a guy on the job calls for a "megger" he wants an instrument for testing insulation.

Despite the marketing "genius".

RE: AVO megger b131

They have TDRs also. Needed one when a guy went after a device with 'Megger' on it. 'No, not insulation - distance to fault' I told him. Age shows...

Thanks, i know maybe i must know more about the use of LCR meter, but cause i need more info is why i ask you if somebody got a manual or some idea of all the features of this device.... more or less is clear that i could measure resistance above 10 ohms, and capacitances and inductances.... but i would like to read the manual that is missing on the box, cause some asshole lost it... and i try to write company and no reply.. so... in any way, thanks for your time.

RE: AVO megger b131

I must admit if someone offered me an AVO I'd expect a top quality analogue multimeter.

Objection, your Honour!

It is because an AVO IS an AVO.

so no way to find manual for this instrument, thanks for your time

RE: AVO megger b131

What!? I found a very good specification here: http://www.sjelectronics.co.uk/pdf/megger/B131.pdf

That is the first hit when you google "avo megger b131". What else do you need? Everything is in there.

Or do you need to know what resistance, capacitance or inductivity is? In that case you hardly need an LCR meter first hand but a text-book on basic electricity. They can also be easily found.
