Combustible Materials containment per the IFC Ch. 27/34?

Combustible Materials containment per the IFC Ch. 27/34?

(OP)
Hi,

If there is a warehouse that contains primarily waterproofing agents (flammable/combustible liquids) but are contained in gallon size plastic and metal drums, is there somewhere in the NFPA or IFC that considers this a regular high hazard commodity and can bypass the MAQ requirements? This warehouse is only used for storage and shipping, and the containers are never opened.

Thanks!

RE: Combustible Materials containment per the IFC Ch. 27/34?

So I assume the design is under IFC first??

Yes you have to apply tha maq

What is the problem of the real question???

RE: Combustible Materials containment per the IFC Ch. 27/34?

No such requirement exist because the amount of Class I, II and IIIA flammable and combustible liquids will dictate the occupancy classification. If your amount in storage exceeds the MAQ in one control area, your space is classified as either a Group H-2 or H-3 occupancy.

If you have high piled storage of these materials, you must also comply with IFC Chapter 23.
