Video Card
Video Card
(OP)
Is any one running an ATI V5800 video card at the current time with NX and or other 3D modeling software? Any problems and or great reviews would be nice. Thanks

Note that it appears that you may be in luck as several CPU/Graphics Card combos using the ATI FirePro V5800 are listed as supported.

RE: Video Card
We are looking at dells. I do believe this card is certified in HP machines at this time, but I think the card is still in the certification process for the dell machine at Siemens. I was trying to get real world experiences and how the card performed in a production environment. Thanks for the feedback always appreciated.

I even have Nvidia cards in my 2 HP laptops at home.
My Dell XPS does have an ATI card, but that computer is 7 years old now. Use it mostly to archive email and as a storage device for photos that can then be viewed and manipulated on the laptops.

Good input thanks again.
RE: Video Card
maybe history, but.... Problems we had with Nvidia are with the display of the letter F in the dialogs with the big/very expensive Fx 2800 and above.

RE: Video Card
There were some graphic issues that occured once in a while but they went away when we tried another driver.
I am running a 27" monitor next to a 19" monitor rotated 90 degrees. I run NX full screen on the 27" and have all my navigators on the 19" monitor.
Although there was significant difference in speed when I changed cards it still is not fast enough. I just waited 20 minutes for a drawing view to update. I have a lot to learn about managing large assemblies. I hope to be able to ask some intellegent questions in the near future.
If you need more details like drivers we are using just ask.
I am using 7.5.2.5 NATIVE on Dell with windows XP OS
