Constraint problems in nx6

Constraint problems in nx6

Constraint problems in nx6

(OP)
Im building up a rather large assembly with many rotaing parts.  When I constrain the center axis of some components to a fixed part, using touch align infer-center/axis, it seems that the components are acting as one.  For example I tried moving one of the componensts axially and all the components move together with the "move selected components only" check box cleared.  If I check the box nothing moves.  If I constrain one of the components axially, it will not allow me to constrain the others.  The components are not constrained to each other, only to the fixed part. Does anyone see anything wrong with this?  Any help appreciated. thanks

RE: Constraint problems in nx6

Are the rotating parts being aligned to the same axis in the fixed part?  In other words, are all the axis of the rotating parts aligned/coincident with each other?

Each component is being aligned to a different axis in the fixed part.

RE: Constraint problems in nx6

Does this assembly contain any subassemblies or are all the components single parts?

RE: Constraint problems in nx6

Can you at least so us an image of the assembly as well the assembly navigator showing the structure and the constraints?

Unfortunately I cannot share any information on the assembly, military application.
cowski - both the fixed part and the components being aligned are sub-assemblies.

Then your only recourse will be to contact GTAC where they have procedures to protect the proprietary nature of your work as you are going to need to have someone look at your assem who knows how Constraints works before they will be able to help you.
