Electrical motor bearing grease

Electrical motor bearing grease

Electrical motor bearing grease

(OP)
Hi!

I have one(Duty master AC 56kW motor, ~380, RPM 3570 ) which are work at different speeds(conect to VFD) and need to grease berings.
At motor name plate is said, that bearings is greas with Mobile SHC-32 grease, I do not have access to this greas.

Maybe someone can tell a good analogue of the grease, what i easy can buy in Europ, i need 400g tube
All sellers what I know  in my region offers great packages(16 kg only).
Maybe someone knows where Europ i can buy 400g tube of SHC-32 grease

Here's one fellow's answer:

Or, take this to your local grease supplier:

Good on ya,

RE: Electrical motor bearing grease

Assuming there is already grease in the bearings, you want to avoid mixing incompatible greases.
Mobil SHC100 is still available and that's what I'd use. It has the same thickener as SHC32, but a higher base oil viscosity (100cst vs 32 Cst).  For a small motor like that (which I assume has small bearings like 6311 or smaller), the higher viscosity should not be a problem.  I would use Mobil SHC100.  You could also use a compatibility table, but best bet is to use identical thickener (Mobil SHC100).

If you are replacing bearings, you can clean out the cavities and use whatever kind of grease you think would work well.  A lot of people use Mobil Polyrex EM for electric motors... also has base oil viscosity of 100.

RE: Electrical motor bearing grease

Let me clarify, I assume the grease you are using is Mobil Mobilith SHC32 and the grease I'd recommend is Mobil Mobilith SHC100.

RE: Electrical motor bearing grease

In case it was not obvious. I suspect you will have a much easier time finding Mobilith SHC100 rather than Mobilith SHC32.

The reason is that we partnered with Mobil during our lube/grease consolidation project in mid-1990's and they steered us toward Mobilith SHC100 for all of our electricmotors.

If you look at the Mobilith SHC series in the link below, Mobilith SHC100 is the only one identified for electric motors:
http://www.southernlubricants.co.uk/aqadmin/media/uploads/4a125bf3c7c2b/Synthetic_Lub_Specs.pdf

The SHC refers to the base oil (synthetic hydrocarbon of some type... I think PAO), SHCXX tells viscosity of base oil (XX... for example SHC100 is VG100).  What comes before the SHCXX tells the type of thickener.  For example the Mobilith is lithium complex thickener.... Polyrex is Polyurea (shear-stabilized) thickener... MobilTemp uses clay thickener..... any  of these and more can be used with the SHCXX base oil as shown at that link.

The key point is to try to match the thickener so you don't get undesired change in grease consistency when you mix greases.  I was ASSUMING that you were using Mobilith series thickener (i.e. Mobil Mobilith SHC32 specified by OEM), which is why I suggested Mobilith SHC100 for compatibility.  If that assumption is not valid then the recommendation is not valid... look for one that has the same thickener, acceptable viscosity and is readily available.

Thanks for the help,

About bearing size, is 6313,
Talk to the man who carried out maintenance before me for this motor,
he said, he looking for the SHC 32, and has been unable to find
and should have been star quickly the unit, and he grease bearings
with grease what hi have, is (SHELL ALBIDA EMS2), through drainage channels squeezed out SHC Grease and grease bearings with SHELL grease, i attach pdf of shell grease, Shell is lithium complex grease,

I have also this grease(SHELL EMS2)and i think that i continue to use this grease.
