Prefer touch constraint

Prefer touch constraint

Prefer touch constraint

(OP)
I am interested in understanding the definition of the subject constraint and how it is used.  I have been getting along fine using most of the other constraints but my gues is that I could be more efficient if I understood how the "prefer touch" constraint worked...

RE: Prefer touch constraint

It is roughly analogous to the 'inferred' option you see in some other commands.

'Prefer touch' will attempt to apply a touch constraint to the geometry that you specify, but if it fails it will try a different type of constraint (an align constraint, if I remember correctly). Using this option gives a certain level of control over to the software, but it can speed the process up for you since you won't have to explicitly specify which type of constraint you want each time.
