Bellow drawing problem

Bellow drawing problem

Bellow drawing problem

(OP)
Hi all,

Whenever I try to make a bellow drawing with more than 15 convolutions, pro engineer (ver. 2001) slows down rapidly.

The way I do it:
1. I make a curves for convolutions, but I draw it slowly (line, 3 point curve, line....) so that i have the right dimensions, not freehanded curve.

***at this point, the computer is allready very slow***

2. then using revolve option the curve is turned around by 360deg. and the bellow is done.
But, I can't figure how to come to this stage because the program hangs before because it slowed down.
Now, there isn't more than about 30 lines and 30 3 point curves in the drawing.

Does anyone have some experience concerning bellow drawing in Pro engineer?

Thanks,
Igor

RE: Bellow drawing problem

One good way is to create the cross section of a single convolute using a datum curve, then revolve a simple surface using the previous curve as the section and then doing a copy transform to copy the surface once then do a pattern on the transform feature and create as many as you want. The surfaces regen very fast.
