Advise on Chill Water Supply Pressure

(OP)
Hello anyone can advise me how much chill water supply pressure needed if

I am going to install a heating & cooling unit (H&C) for mixing process. The H&C unit stated the requirement for the chill water supply are as below:

The H&C unit:
max. chill water pressure = 6 bar
min. chill water differential pressure = 1 bar
Consumption chill water at 15 degreeC, flow at 0 degreeC = 865 l/h

**Output Data valid for room temp. 20 degreeC, chill water inlet 15 degreeC & 3 bar differential pressure between cooling chill water inlet and outlet.

Currently, out chill water supply at 3.5bar & return at 3 bar.

RE: Advise on Chill Water Supply Pressure

The pressure you need is related to the pressure drop of your system (physical losses from fittings, heat exhcangers, strainers, ect.) at the flow rate you need for cooling.

This pressure is reffered to as the pump discharge head. You will need to size you pump so that it can produce the head you need at the flow rate required.

A question properly stated is a problem half solved.

Always remember, free advice is worth exactly what you pay for it!
