Pro-E file open in Solidworks
Pro-E file open in Solidworks
(OP)
I'm using Solidworks 2011 and I know I should able to open any Pro-E file but it is not opening. I clicked on file/open/ select pro-e tye then it is asking me "Analyze Model completely" click ok then nothing happen. Tried million of times and still no reaction after clicked ok. Not sure if this is problem of solidworks or the pre-e file.
I have attached the file here. You can try to see if there is any error on this file. Or my way of opening Pro-E file in solidworks is wrong??

I have tried myself again to open the pro-e file in soldiworks (using Import geometry directly > Knitting > Try forming solid(s) but still not reaction. after clicked ok. Now I know something wrong with my program. Not the file itself.
I downloaded your file here with no problem on opening. For example I tried to change the length of the shaft. It seems it does not have a sketch or a feature that allow me to do it. Is it suppose to be like this or there is a way that I don't know? thanks
RE: Pro-E file open in Solidworks
SW is supposed to be able to convert Pro/E files to editable features (depending on Pro/E version), so I'm not sure what is happening with this model.

If you have FeatureWorks (SW Professional and Premium editions) you may be able to recognize features. If not you may be able to change some of the features with the 'Direct Edit' tools.

I could not get it to open in SWx 2010 - I used a different program to convert it to STEP. Make sure you run diagnostics on it as there was a problem on one of the faces.

Does the #UGC:2 PART file header signify that it came from a Unigraphics product?

In addition to rollupswx's observations, the file was exported from Wildfire V5, which is not supported by SW2011.
