Bearing Capacity

Bearing Capacity

Bearing Capacity

(OP)
Das has given (q/25).((3.28B+1)/(3.28B))**2 for allowable bearing capacity on sands using q (CPT result) after Mayerholf.

Tomlinson gives 2.1q.((B+1)/(B))**2 for the same after Mayerholf.

One may ask why these two formula are diferrent although both are with kPa unit?

What would be a reliable formula for BC on sands for design purposes?

Thank you.
