Mazak Laser STX-48 Champion
Mazak Laser STX-48 Champion
(OP)
Hey
I have a Mazak laser 1300 W champion STX-48. Power is supposed to be 1300W but the average output power starts running at 500w and it keep on decreasing to 250w. Hence we are not able to cut anything on the laser. Can any one suggest what is the reason of the decline in the output power of the laser.

when did you last have it serviced?
have you changed the pre-mix gas bottle? did the problem happen after this change?
RE: Mazak Laser STX-48 Champion
Are you reading this power on the Command screen? Are you sure you are calling up full power?
RE: Mazak Laser STX-48 Champion
But is it possible to replace all these parts on our own or do we have to call Mazak guys for that?

Any way best to call Mazak and getthem to service it. 5000hrs is a long time between service but this is a strong point of the Mazak it will keep on going but if you leave it too long then problems like this are not picked up and if left can lead to more problems.

Could it be a bad resonator or what. Before the tech replaced mirror and all, we were getting beam output. The only problem was the output power.
Can any one guide me in this.
When we replace the mirror and all does the beam alignment goes off or not.
RE: Mazak Laser STX-48 Champion
He will tune the mode and callibrate the power directly out of the resonator and when this is done he should then work on re-aligning the external mirrors. If there is no beam at all coming out of the reso then this could point to an internal resonator alignment problem or it could just be a faulty output coupler.
If you have an actual Mazak engineer then all will be fine as this is what we do day in day out so you are in good hands.
Of course keep us posted and where are you based?
