P&ID to 3D

(OP)
Does anyone here use AutoDesk P&ID in conjunction with Plant 3D in order to leverage the P&ID data to create 3D layouts?  Right now I am wasting a lot of time rereading, interpreting, and redrawing the plant layout in 3D, and I'm looking for a better option.  Any suggestions?

RE: P&ID to 3D

The only way I see you do that, is if there are xyz coordinates as part of the P&ID package, which sounds cumbersome.

We did intelligent P&ID's, but it was more for a bills and materials sheet and for line # and valve lists etc.  You would still have to design it in 3D, but you may link the 3D to the P&ID, but that is just to make sure you use a check valve on the 3D design if you have a check on the P&ID.  This was using Integraph software.
