Value of IECEX certification

Value of IECEX certification

Value of IECEX certification

(OP)
Hey

I have a product with IECEx certification and when i contact CSA and ETL, they said: "we advise you to contact FM Aproval or UL directly, this prevents unnecessary delays and costs. FM and UL are also members of the IECEx Scheme".
But, UL give me a quose equal to another product without IECEx certification. anyone can said to me why they do that?

Thanks

RE: Value of IECEX certification

What certification are you trying to get currently?
Does your current IECex product have the IECex scheme?

For example when I get one of my products certified in the US to a UL standard we also get a CB scheme.. This allows us to go to other countries and get other certifications and only have to do testing not covered in the UL testing already.
Having the CB/IECex sheme forces the testing laboratories to honor the testing already performed.

I would simply contact whomever gave you the IECex cert and ask them about additional country approvals (assuming that is what you are wanting)
