Boiler tube wall thickness above 4 mm

Boiler tube wall thickness above 4 mm

Boiler tube wall thickness above 4 mm

(OP)
Hi all,

what is the commerical available tube wall thicknesses for A192 tubes above 4mm thickness. is there any standard thickness above 4 mm for tubes above 2" OD.

Thanks

RE: Boiler tube wall thickness above 4 mm

Checkout ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section I, Table PWT-10.
Your wall thickness is available as boiler tube starting a 2.0" dia.

A little more information as to what you are trying to accomplish may help you get a more detailed answer.  Aside from standards there are significant criteria in sizing boiler tubes.  In other words you wouldn't want to change a tube wall thickness without an engineering/design review.

Thanks for the reply. I am using 2" Tube for a pressure of 13.6Mpa at saturation temperature having 0.75 corrosion allowance. I have to use above 4mm thickness for the tube in new conditions. but as per the Table PWT-10 for 2" tube no thicknesses has been mentioned above 4 mm (0.165")

Thanks

Check with several boiler tube suppliers there may be portions of mill runs that have ASME SA 192 tubing in a standard size above 4mm.
