Drivability analysis for monotube piles

Drivability analysis for monotube piles

Drivability analysis for monotube piles

(OP)
I am planning to run a drivabilily analysis for monotube pile using GRLWEAP. The soil profile is as follows:
0-25 ft:  soft to stiff silty clay/lean clay
25-50 ft: meduin dense to dense silt/sand,
50-120 ft: primarily dense to very dense sand with some pockets of medium dense sand/silt,
Rock was not encountered within 120 ft.

Any help especially inputs regarding unit skin friction, dynamic soil parameters, setup factors or any other inputs are greatly appreciated.  Thnaks.

RE: Drivability analysis for monotube piles

Respect friction factors, for DRIVABILITY

Cohesionless, the natural friction angle may be taken

Cohesive, the full standing measured cohesion may be taken

For long term CAPACITY, no more than 2/3 of the friction angle for cohesionless and 1/2 of the long term cohesion should be taken. (For cohesive, safety factor for cohesion (no less than 1.25 for temporary, 2 or more for mid to long term))

If the bulk of the skin forces may reasonably come from cohesionless soils, it is better to entirely dismiss the contribution of the cohesive soils.
