SURFACE TO SURFACE ERROR

SURFACE TO SURFACE ERROR

SURFACE TO SURFACE ERROR

(OP)
I got an error stating Surface to Surface contact: Number of target sub-surfaces per element > 1000....what does this mean and what do i need to do to correct it?

RE: SURFACE TO SURFACE ERROR

When Cosmos sets up a general contact problem it defines contact surfaces based on element faces. Apparently there are more element faces in some portion of your model than Cosmos can deal with. Is there a lot of curvature in your model?
