Insert part from design library with a pop-up asking for dimensions

I would like to insert a part in an assembly (already in my design library) that will ask via a pop-up window to insert some dimensions (lenght in this case). Does anyone knows how to do that ?

RE: Insert part from design library with a pop-up asking for dimensions

Simplest way is to create configs (in the design library part) of the different lengths involved, then when inserted into an assy, the configured length can be selected.

I already do that when I want to select from a list of standard dimensions. But here, I want to let this dimension to be user prompt because it could be anything from 0.25'' to 240''.

RE: Insert part from design library with a pop-up asking for dimensions

Is the created part going to be a Virtual Component?

If not, how are you intending to control duplicates?
