I'm looking for help on creating a grip file to extract
x,y,z, locations as well as userdefined attribute info to
a textfile or info window for points.

hai its easy man.....one GPA(global parameter access symbol) function is there to read attributes from objects...
so u can filter point using MASK and read the attribute and show it in text file as information
if u want more help i will write one program and send to u

Yes please, send me a source code file for the program you are talking about.
Is that a grip file with the extension *.grx?
Will this only print out just the x,y,z and attribute info,
and none of that other junk like file information, layer,color, etc.
