plus/minus symbol appears in constraint dimensions

plus/minus symbol appears in constraint dimensions

(OP)
When I create a constraint, the plus/minus symbol appears at the end of the dimension. The symbol appears in sketches and in assembly constraints. It doesn't affect anything, apparently, but is just annoying. The default setting in drafting mode is to show dim's without the symbol. How can I turn off the symbol?

Thanks,
'ziner

RE: plus/minus symbol appears in constraint dimensions

It annoyed me too, until I turned it off:

   Tools + Options
   General + Parameters and Measure
   Parameters Tolerance page
turn off the DEFAULT TOLERANCE option

Does anyone use this type of tolerance?

Does anyone know what's used for?

RE: plus/minus symbol appears in constraint dimensions

When you tolerance the 3d model (sketch constraints, pad heights, hole diameters,...) this information is passed to the FTA module when you use the Generate Dimension button.  The tolerance can be used for Knowledge based machining.
