Multiple assembles in one parts list

Multiple assembles in one parts list

Multiple assembles in one parts list

(OP)
I'm trying to create a document with many exploded views from two different assemblies.  Both of these assemblies share many of the same parts. Right now when I try to balloon the parts, it keeps referencing the specific parts list for that assembly. What I would like to do is create one single parts list in my draft for all the views.  Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Multiple assembles in one parts list

A parts list can only link to one assembly.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

RE: Multiple assembles in one parts list

A bit of a pain but you could just make sure the common parts have the same item number in each assembly.
Its a lot easier to do now with the improved parts list fetaures in ST2.
In ST3 you can also assign the item number in the assembly.

Thanks for the replies beachcomber.
There's a lot of parts so that would be too much of a pain.  I've already talked to my supervisor and we're going to change the formatting of these assembly drawings to make everyone's life a little easier.
I'll keep this in mind though, it'll come in handy for future work.
