ASTM A400 Class Q2

ASTM A400 Class Q2

Can someone tell me what material/materials would meets ASTM A400 Class Q2?

RE: ASTM A400 Class Q2

You have this information in the ASTM specification, see below

4.1.2 Classes Q-1 through Q-7 comprise bars for parts
operating under moderate service conditions requiring moderate
to high yield strength (75 000 to 185 000 psi (517 to 1276
MPa)), corresponding tensile-strength levels, and good ductility.
The applicable section sizes, identified as Classes Q-1
through Q-7, are shown in Table 7. The steel compositions
suitable for Classes Q-1 through Q-7 and various desired
mechanical properties are listed in Tables 3 and 4.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't have the specification.  I see that they reference A108, A304, A311, A322, A633, and A675.  Per the stated strength levels, I see that 4140 HT per A322 could work, but I can't be sure without more info.  This application would use a 4.25"+ round bar.

Don't guess, you need the ASTM sepcification because the list of steels for Class Q-2 are shown. The cost of the standard is below,

If your company cannot afford $39 USD, time to find another job.

I am trying to bid a job and this is the callout for the material.  It would not be cost effective to buy a spec just to bid the job.  I would not have asked the question if I had the spec.

Come on, only $39 USD, are you serious? How can you prepare a quality bid when ASTM A400 is called out for steel composition and mechanical properties??
