ASME Section I Feedwater Piping

ASME Section I Feedwater Piping

(OP)
Hello all,

I have a question which may fall into an AI or Jurisdictional opinion, just checking if any of you have ever run into this.

For a multiple boiler installation with an economizer the diagram for drum style boilers shows the code stopping after the second valve from the boiler. This diagram is assuming the feedwater control station is before the economizer but in this case it is in between the economizer and boiler.  With this configuration am I required to consider the feedwater piping to be code going from the second valve off the boiler to the economizer?

RE: ASME Section I Feedwater Piping

The code boundry would be at the inlet of the second isolation valve. The piping between the economizer and the second isolation valve is excluded in your case.

Aslav,
Can you post a sketch with P&ID?
Where is the economizer istalled (physical location)? What is constraction code your economizer built?
Thanks,
Curtis
