Converting NX Drawings to ProE

Converting NX Drawings to ProE

Converting NX Drawings to ProE

(OP)
Hi,

Is it possible to convert NX drawings to ProE?  I expect to loose associativity, but trying to avoid recreating views or sectional views, if at all possible.

Thanks

Forgot to mention - Using Wildfire 4.0.

RE: Converting NX Drawings to ProE

The only way I know of is to export the drawings as DXF files and import them back into WF4.
Converting the models will lose all parametrics and they become dumb solids in WF4. Use STEP214 to export the files from NX.

Thanks for the feedback,

That's what I was figuring to.  I believe when this is done,m it only takes the line & text entities & not the views themselves.  I was hoping for a way to take the views with it.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

RE: Converting NX Drawings to ProE

Correct, the DXF files are 2D snapshots of the NX drawings. I have been doing conversions for over 20 years and have not found a way to convert drawings with views of the model between systems.
Some companies will tell you they can do it, put they use the drawings as guides and recreate them in the receiving system. If they have the model and you want to pay enough, they wil also recreate the parametric model. Never found a reason to spend that much on a conversion job.
