302 HQ Stress relieving

302 HQ Stress relieving

(OP)
I am looking for help with a new product our company is working on.  Does anyone know the effects of "stress relieving" 302 HQ to the following parameters.  The reason I question this is because the typical stress releive would be at 1650F.  I was wondering what the effects of the modified treatment would be metallurgically.

600F for 8 hrs, 16 hrs, and 36 hrs
650F for 8 hrs, 16 hrs, and 36 hrs
700F for 8 hrs, 16 hrs, and 36 hrs

Any help is greatly appreciated!

RE: 302 HQ Stress relieving

the effect will be nearly zero.
You may get a little stress relief at 700F x 16hrs but not worth the effort.

Thanks for the quick response... I suspected the same.  My only concern is that perhaps the temp might be just high enough to cause some carbide precipitation.  It appears this will not be a concern.

Thanks again

RE: 302 HQ Stress relieving

if carbide precip is a concern then look at the carbon level.  In alloys that are 0.02% and lower it takes many days to form carbides at 1200F.
