helix spring problem... how to add ref planes on each end?
helix spring problem... how to add ref planes on each end?
(OP)
I have a spring that was made using 2 circles one small for the spring diameter and the other for I guess you would call the sweep diameter...
The spring is there but I cant seem to figure out how to add a ref plane on each end so I can mate the spring to other parts... basically I want the 2 planes to sandwich the spring
This has to be easy but Im a newbie... thanks!

The first plane you need should be there already as the helix sketch plane. To create the other plane, show the helix Feature and select the end and the first plane which is normal to the helix axis. to create a center axis you can select the center point of the big circle and it's plane as references.
Another thing to consider is creating an extruded cut to flatten the ends of the spring so they can be used for your mate references
