Step File import

(OP)
Me and my co-worker are trying to import a complex part made in Pro/Engineer into Unigraphics V17 via a Step file format. The conversion process runs without any errors but after the dialog box closes there is no sign of the imported part. Has anyone experienced this problem.

RE: Step File import

I can't remember if it was V17 or V18 but UG used to have have an issue with importing and exporting STEP files. They did however patch it. My suggestion would be to make sure that you are using the latest QRM for the version you are using. You can download the QRM from https://plmapps.plms-eds.com/webkey/step1.jsp

If you need more help send me an e-mail

RE: Step File import

1.review  your ug****.log file, and you can find where the g files are inport.
2. search the ug files by the name form your hard disk.

it must be some where if no error,
mostily it will be the c:\ path

good luck

RE: Step File import

Are you importing an asembly using AP214? The assembly structure will be in the current part file, but you will need to load the children.

Look at the log file and do a search for the file names listed in the log file that UG has created.
