Win 7 (64) and MS Office version

Win 7 (64) and MS Office version

(OP)
Hi
I'm told by my VAR that to run SW2010 or SW2011 on Win7 I need to use office 2007.

However I have a conflicting report of a user who is on win7/SW2011 and still using office 2003 without any problems.

Whats the truth?
What will not work if I only have office 2003?

I have amny deisng tables in my parts - which use Excel.

RE: Win 7 (64) and MS Office version

We run SWX2010 on XP64-bit machines and Office 2000.
We periodically have crashes and were told SWX doesn't support Office2000, but it works... :)

RE: Win 7 (64) and MS Office version

I ran Office 2000 with SW2011 Win 7 (64) and had no problems. But the first time I tried to create a report in SW Simulation, I got the message the report generator would not work, reuiring Office 2007 or later. I upgraded to Office 2010. So I have seen both sides of this issue.

do the design tanbles work OK with Office 2003 and SW2011 on win7? That as far as I know is the only interaction I have between MSOffice and SW.

Another question - If I have SW2011 running on XP with Office 2003 for my secondary seat, and I have Win7,Sw2011 and Office 2007 will there be a problem with the XP seat opening the design tables I created?

Microsoft has a "compatability pack" (i.e. patch) that allows you to open/edit the newer .***x format files in the older versions of office.

The compatability pack is here:  MS Office compatability pack
