Contact between 2D beam and Shell

Hi Friends,

I am trying to model staged construction reinforced soil through ABAQUS. In face, I have some problems in defining proper contact property between nail and soil! I mean though I did define tangential and normal behavior for contct area between beam and soil, but they do not slip on each other. Could you please help me about that?

Attached you will find a copy of my file.

Thank you

RE: Contact between 2D beam and Shell

Unless you are interested in the detailed interactions (including possible slippage) between the soil and the nails, you could use one of the options in Abaqus Analysis Manual section 2.2.3. You can define reinforcements in a shell or membrane, then embed the reinforced shell in a solid.

Dear Invariantl

Thank you for your response, Actually could you do me a great favor and take a look at my attached file? Your approach is kind of new to me because I tied every thing you may think.

I attached it again here and also send you with an email:

Thank you
