Sensitive leak testing

Sensitive leak testing

(OP)
Can i combine the hydrotest with a sensitive leak test or do i have to also air test to 15psi and then use a solution to check for leaks ? your thoughts please

RE: Sensitive leak testing

Why would you want to do both? A sensitive leak test is done in lieu of the required hydrotest.

RE: Sensitive leak testing

Not every time. You can use sensitive leak test, after hidrotest ( normally in construction phase to ensure the integrity of the line)to check the joints out of test during Hydro, like control valves, conections to vessels, towers, exchangers........(STL normally is used during pre-commisioning and commisioning Phases). Go to Chapter VI ASME B-31.3 (Both are really differents, and looking for differents targets).
