Customize revision table
Customize revision table
(OP)
I have entered a standard SW revision table (working with 2009) which starts with a row spanning all columns and says "Revisions", above that is a row with the column headings and above that I can enter the revisions. All fine.
I would like to customise the table, not to difficult either so far, but the only thing i cant do is to delete the first row that states "revisions"... Tried hiding as well, didnt work. Any ideas how to get rid of it???
Thanks

RE: Customize revision table
Is there a way around this?
Your help is much appreciated!

RE: Customize revision table
As for the anchor point, yes the attach to anchor point option is ticked, but I think the promblem lies more in the fact that when I save the revision table with the template, the revision table appears before the sheet format in the feature tree and therefor can't "see" the anchor point...
All I want is that the revision table is already on a new drawing when created. The only way I can see that happened so far is by saving the sheet format on the template and have a different template for different drawing sizes.
But I would prefer one template and different sheet formats.
Have you got any suggestions?
RE: Customize revision table
Each drawing size has a different template with a different sheet format. I actually create a template for each project with certain properties set up.
Positions for the various tables are set in the sheet format. Be sure your anchor points are set; click the + next to "Sheet Format." A tiny black dot will appear as you float over each one. Go to edit sheet format, right click on an anchor and select "set it" for each. Click somewhere on the sheet to set it.

RE: Customize revision table
How do I tell the drawing template to call up a particular revision table?
RE: Customize revision table
Some confusion can result if you do not save in a known place. SWKs defaults to save things in the program file directory which was an idea known bad from Grace's time.
Set up a "FORMATS" directory with folders for the various templates. Be sure Tools/Options/File Locations point to it.

RE: Customize revision table
Ideally I would like to have one drawing template and several sheet formats. Is there a way to achive that (with the revision tables in place when creating a new drawing)? The only way I can see is entering the revision table after the drawing is created.
Thanks for your help!
RE: Customize revision table
Creating size specific drawing templates (with or without a revision table) is very simple and far more efficient.
RE: Customize revision table
If you want to change formats, then do it and once you have what you want save it as a template for future use and not do it over and over. Include the revision block then delete it if you want. You can have different templates with rev blocks or not.
When I do a project I create a template from my default and customize it with title block information, saving a new template for all the machine drawings in that project.

RE: Customize revision table
Good to find out how other users works. My concern regarding multiple templates was that I though I can't change the sheet format once I created a drawing. Still not sure if I can, but I find out. Doesn't happen very often though anyway and if working with multiple template for multiple sheet formats makes life easier I am more than happy to go with that!!!
Thanks again for your help

RE: Customize revision table
But now I encountered another problem, hopefully only a setting or so I missed.
So I have got my template with sheet format saved together and it opens fine with the revision table in the right location.
Unfortunately when I add a subsequent sheet, it does not come up with the revision table at all. I don't work with different sheet formats on additional sheets in this case, all sheets should look the same and the revision table should say see sheet 1 on aditional sheets. But it is not there at all...
I normally have the sheet format and template saved with different names in different folders, but I think I read somewhere they should have the same name and sit in the same folder. I tried that and it didn't work either. File paths where updated.
Help! Can somebody point me in the right direction?
