simply supported boundary conditions

simply supported boundary conditions

(OP)
Hi , i'm conducting an analysis on a flat plat that is simply supported along the length on both sides and free at the other ends.
Kindly view the attached image to view the coordinates.

I implemented these boundary conditions along the

 left side of the plate :
------------------------

U1=U2=U3 =0 ( pinned boundary conditions )

 right side of the plate :
------------------------

 U1=U3=0  ( roller support boundary condition ).

Kindly let me know if the roller support boundary condition is correct.

Thanks a lot

RE: simply supported boundary conditions

Your picture simply shows a sketch of a rectangle with a coordinate system. How can anyone say whether your boundary conditions are correct or not. Is it a continuous plate on rollers and so needs symmetry conditions?

Tata but not yet tara

RE: simply supported boundary conditions

I agree. Not enough information. Are these something like bridging a gap between tables? Or mounted in concrete? You could need a roller, a pin, or a full encastre condition. There is just no way to tell.
