Creating a multi-turret lathe

Creating a multi-turret lathe

Creating a multi-turret lathe

(OP)
Hello Community,

I am attempting to teach myself how to program a twin turret lathe in NX. The lathe in question is a Mori-Seiki ZL35.

Now, I am starting from ground zero. No post, No machine, No nothing.

So, any experiences you can share would be great.

I have a few basic questions I cannot find answers for.

1. Do I only need to create one post? or do I need a separate post for each turret somehow linked together?

2. From what I gather, in order to sync the turrets I am required to build a kinematic machine and use the "syncronization manager". Is this correct? Since you need to build a machine, if you don't have the ISV license you cannot program multi turrets?

3. are there any good resources for learning this type of advanced CAM programming? Does the current CAST library have any tutorials?

Thanks,

JAY
