CHS bolted flange connections.

CHS bolted flange connections.

CHS bolted flange connections.

(OP)
Does anybody have any documents or literature on how to design circular flanged joints wih bolts in a radial configuration.  Could be for a CHS or even larger section such as a steel chimney splice connection.

Regards

RE: CHS bolted flange connections.

What is CHS?  Circular hollow section?

AISC put out a book in 1997, Hollow Structural Section Connection Manual, that has a design procedure for this type of connection.  AISC's Design Guide 24 also discusses this procedure.

There's a guide put out by Risa for tower poles that discusses this connection.  Perhaps someone here can post a link.

RE: CHS bolted flange connections.

@nutte: I believe the RISA document you are referencing is the document that I posted above.

RE: CHS bolted flange connections.

Oops, that link above is the guide I was thinking of.
